Origin, Growth & African Vintner Vision
An African wine journey built on research, passion and community.
A homegrown winery with a regional horizon. From early trial vintages to an established Dodoma winery, Alko Vintages represents decades of dedicated winemaking, grower partnerships and commercial craftsmanship.

The beginning
Research became craft. Craft became a company.
Born from a passion for grapes and fine wine, Alko Vintages traces its roots to the late 1990s, when Process Engineer and vintner Archard Kato began translating research, technical knowledge and the promise of Dodoma's grapes into a homegrown winery.

Our people
Quality is a team discipline.
Founder, CEO and Chief Vintner Archard Kato brings engineering rigour and a winemaker's judgement to Alko. Around that vision, cellar, quality, production, commercial and grower teams turn origin into dependable wine.

Community & growers
Wine that grows with its community.
Many of the vineyards supporting Alko wines are connected to small-scale growers in Dodoma. Quality specifications, farming knowledge, local trade and responsible sourcing strengthen both the wine and the communities behind it.
